Program Director, Animal Protection of New Mexico

Laura Bonar is program director for Animal Protection of New Mexico (APNM) and Animal Protection Voters, leading APNM's Chimps To Sanctuary campaign since 2010. Since 2007 she has helped pass stronger local and state animal protection laws, developed programs to benefit the animals of domestic violence victims, and organized communities in support of numerous campaigns to benefit both domestic and wild animals. Bonar is also a registered nurse practicing in Albuquerque.
