Senior Vice President, State Affairs
Kelly Peterson is vice president of State Affairs for The Humane Society of the United States
She works with HSUS state directors throughout the country to support animal welfare legislation, fight animal cruelty, and engage like-minded citizens to promote the protection of animals. In May, 2009, Peterson co-founded Fences for Fido—an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit in Oregon and Washington—that has improved the lives of more than 325 chained dogs living outside in the elements all day and night. FFF attends to all needs by building a fence, removing the chain, supplying a warm dog house, providing spay/neuter services, and returning yearly to ensure the dog lives a safe, un-chained life. Co-Chair/Founder, Fences For Fido and Vice President, State Affairs, The Humane Society of the United States.
